Plusieurs familles de droit sont distinguées, principalement celle des pays de droit anglo-américain ou common law et celle des pays de droit continental à laquelle appartient la France.
Dans le contexte international, nous constatons que le droit de « common law » gagne du terrain, au détriment de notre environnement juridique et économique, c’est pourquoi l’influence de la tradition civiliste et de ses atouts doit être développée, tout particulièrement dans son application économique.
La richesse, l’évolution et l’application d’un droit diversifié est nécessaire et passe par la mise en situation de compétition des différents systèmes de droit.

C’est dans ce contexte que la Fondation pour le droit continental a été créée pour renforcer le rayonnement du droit continental et contribuer à l’équilibre juridique mondial.

The 3rd World Summit on the Knowledge Society (WSKS 2010), is an international attempt to promote the dialogue for the main aspects of the Knowledge Society towards a better world for all.

This annual Summit brings together key stakeholders of the Knowledge Society development worldwide, from Academia, Industry, Government, Policy Makers, and active citizens to look at the impact and prospects of the Information Technology, and the knowledge-based era it is creating, on key facets of living, working, learning, innovating and collaborating in today’s hyper-complex world.

The Summit provides a distinct, unique forum for cross-disciplinary fertilization of research, favouring the dissemination of research new scientific ideas relevant to international research agendas as the EU (FP7), OECD or UNESCO.
